Facebook IQ shared some tips for marketers looking to heat up their summer efforts on the social network.
The infographic below revealed statistics including:
- 70 percent of Facebook users in 21 countries — Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, Turkey, the U.K. and the U.S. — who connected to the social network last summer did so via mobile.
- 75 percent of content and 76 percent of photos posted to Facebook last summer were via mobile.
- The 21 countries combined for a total of 800 million daily posts, photos, videos, links, comments and check-ins last summer.
- Facebook users share 22 percent more photos during the summer than during either the winter or spring, and 7 percent more than during the fall.
Facebook IQ said in introducing its infographic:
Summer inspires people to set some serious goals for themselves (No. 1 is getting in shape). It invites people to spend more on food and beverage, entertainment and travel. And the story of summer is not one of days off but days \”on\” — on the beach, on a bike, on the trail, on the grill, on the patio, on a road trip.
As people are out and about, they’re making new friends (more than in any other season) — and they’re capturing and sharing their most epic summer moments on mobile.
